Dr.Sudha Om Dhingra is a native of Jalandhar, Punjab, India and a well known Journalist, Story Writer, Poet, Novelist, TV, Radio & Stage Artist. She is also associated with International Hindi Association, USA; Hindi Pracharini Sabha, Canada; and Hindi Vikas Mandal, North Carolina. She was the past national secretary, national coordinator, and present chair person of Kavi Sammelans of International Hindi Association. She was also the past president of Hindi Vikas Mandal, and currently is secretary of Hindi Vikas Mandal. She is an editor (Chief Editor: Shiam Tripathi) of the Hindi Chetna, a magazine published by the Hindi Pracharini Sabha, Canada. She was the past Cultural chair person of the Hindu Society of North Carolina and board member of the Indian Classical Music & Dance Society, North Carolina. She is the Coordinator of Radio Sabrang ( Denmark). She has given her life to the advancement and promotion of Hindi language through kavi sammelans, kavi ghoshti's, cultural programs and teaching Hindi. She has received numerous awards, some noteworthy are: 1) from Indian ambassador to USA , for her service to Hindi language and Indian community, 1996 2) Citizen Honor Award from Triangle Indian Community, 2003 3) Poet of the Year award, Heritage Society of North Carolina, 2006 4) Aksharam Pravasi Media Award at the 4th Pravasi Hindi Utsav, Delhi, India, 2005. She was also spotlighted recently (2008) by Morrisville News Community Magazine for focusing on social issues in her poetry.
